A Camera for Your Mouth?

December 30, 2009 at 7:26 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Mini-Camera, Micro Cam, USB cameraAs if we didnt’ have enough to do, now there is a new mini-camera product available to help you see inside your mouth.  Maybe you’re bored enough to want to count your teeth; maybe you have a popcorn kernel stuck somewhere, or maybe you’d just like to see what the back of your throat looks like up close and personal.

This latest Dental Intra-Oral Camera is used with a USB connection for people to examine their teeth or any other parts of the body you can’t see without getting a neck strain.  Obviously a teaching tool and more designed for dentists, this unit could be attractive to the person who wants to see other body parts more clearly.  While I’m sure your imagination is running wild right now with the possible uses, keep in mind that it does have to be connected to your laptop or PC for viewing this mind boggling footage!

As always, enjoy the 21st century!

Eyeball Implanted Hidden Camera!

December 30, 2009 at 6:26 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Want a completely invisible hidden camera?  Well, this method may be a little extreme for the sane…but it’s definitely an eye-catching idea.  Okay, bad pun.

But seriously, this new technology for hidden cameras has been developed for the blind.  It involves a procedure in which doctors implant a micro-camera directly into the eyeball in an attempt to return sight to people with damaged or no vision.  While this technology to restore sight was developed some time ago; the wiring and charging of these cameras was too bulky for a realistic application.

Now, however, a nerve-stimulating chip can be implanted at the back of the eye, charging wirelessly and communicating directly to the camera inside the lens of the eye itself.   This produces a totally covert electronic vision system.

In stumbling across this latest advancement, I can’t help but wonder how long it will take a hacker to tap into that video feed and see everything the user is seeing.  One person’s nightmare is a hacker’s dream.

Think your $2,000 digital Canon was expensive?  Well, consider yourself lucky you got away this easy, because this eyeball hidden camera is undoubtedly the most expensive hidden camera out there!

And while 95% of the population will never need such an advanced device in order to see, I am thankful for the existence of that technology for the percentage that will.

Gun Control?

November 25, 2009 at 4:54 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Unless you’ve been living on Mars, you’ve heard about the latest attempts by Obama and the government to control gun use.  What boggles the mind is the absolute proof that in the midst of gun control, crime rates always go up.  If our leaders succeed in taking away and/or regulating our access to guns, our homes will be less secure and we will be more vulnerable in them.

One of our only options will be to have hidden cameras in our home for such occassions when we are threatened.  The added proof of invaders in our homes may be of little comfort if we are lying on the floor after the dust settles, but at least authorities will have the evidence they need to apprehend these criminals.  Peace of mind?  You decide.
